Plagiarism Policy

NADT Journals (JHSS & JERS)

NADT Journals is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic honesty and integrity. The Journal of Humanities & Social Sciences (JHSS) and the Journal of Educational Research & Studies (JERS) strictly prohibit all forms of plagiarism and unethical academic practices.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism refers to the use of another person’s ideas, words, data, images, or intellectual output without proper acknowledgment or citation. This includes both intentional and unintentional appropriation of existing work.

Forms of Plagiarism

  • Direct plagiarism (copying text verbatim without citation)
  • Self-plagiarism or duplicate publication
  • Improper paraphrasing without acknowledgment
  • Use of data, tables, or figures without permission or citation
  • Submission of work generated or substantially altered without disclosure

Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts may be subjected to plagiarism detection checks at any stage of the editorial process. Editors may use similarity-checking tools and expert judgment to assess originality.

Acceptable Similarity

While a small degree of similarity may be acceptable due to references, standard terminology, or methodological descriptions, excessive similarity or unattributed content is considered a violation of ethical standards. Editorial decisions regarding similarity are final.

Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage—before or after publication—the manuscript may be rejected, withdrawn, or retracted. The editorial team reserves the right to inform the author’s institution if serious ethical misconduct is identified.

Responsibility of Authors

Authors are solely responsible for ensuring the originality of their work. All sources must be properly cited, and permissions must be obtained for any copyrighted material used in the manuscript.

Ethical Alignment

NADT Journals’ plagiarism policy is aligned with ethical publishing principles consistent with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the quality standards encouraged under the UGC-CARE framework.

By submitting a manuscript to NADT Journals, authors agree to abide by this plagiarism policy and accept the editorial decisions arising from its implementation.
