The Journal of Emerging Research Scholars (JERS) is a peer-reviewed open-access journal designed to support postgraduate and doctoral researchers in developing and publishing high-quality academic work. As a newly launched initiative under NADT Journals, JERS offers an encouraging yet academically rigorous platform for emerging scholars to share meaningful research contributions.

JERS emphasises clarity, originality, and ethical scholarship. Through a structured double-blind peer review process and transparent editorial policies, the journal aims to strengthen research culture among early-career scholars and promote the dissemination of new ideas across the humanities and social sciences.

Who Can Submit to JERS?

JERS is dedicated to supporting emerging researchers. To preserve this mission, submissions are accepted only from the categories listed below. Collaborative work is permitted provided the first or corresponding author meets the eligibility criteria.

  • PG
    Postgraduate (Master’s) students

    Students currently enrolled in a recognised Master’s programme may submit original research, practice notes, or review essays.

  • MPhil
    M.Phil. scholars

    Scholars registered for M.Phil. degrees who wish to publish interim findings or completed research are eligible to submit.

  • PhD
    Doctoral (Ph.D.) candidates

    Doctoral researchers may submit chapters, papers derived from their thesis, research-in-progress reports, and short empirical studies.

  • PR
    Practitioners

    Practitioners may submit research-in-progress or classroom-based studies where the work is led by an eligible emerging scholar.

  • Collab
    Collaborative papers

    Collaborative submissions are accepted only if the first or corresponding author is a postgraduate, M.Phil., or doctoral scholar. Senior faculty may act as co-authors or mentors but not as lead/corresponding authors.

Scope of the Journal

JERS welcomes research contributions across the humanities and social sciences, with a focus on work that demonstrates intellectual curiosity, methodological soundness, and relevance to contemporary academic or societal issues.

Publication fee information

The Journal of Emerging Research Scholars (JERS) supports accessible scholarship. As a newly established journal, JERS currently operates a no-fee policy: we do not charge submission, processing, or publication fees.

No Article Processing Charges (APC)

Authors may publish without payment of APCs. This policy helps ensure equitable publishing opportunities for researchers across institutions and regions.

No Submission Fee

There is no fee for submitting a manuscript. Submissions are evaluated solely on scholarly merit through our double-blind peer-review process.

Transparent future policy

Should the journal introduce any fees in future, changes will be announced clearly with rationale, scope, and provisions for waiver or institutional support.

Open access support

Our no-fee approach aligns with our commitment to open access and increased visibility for early-career researchers and institutions with limited resources.

JERS does not charge any publication fees at this time.
