Reviewer Guidelines

NADT Journals (JHSS & JERS)

Reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the academic quality, integrity, and credibility of the Journal of Humanities & Social Sciences (JHSS) and the Journal of Educational Research & Studies (JERS). These guidelines are intended to support reviewers in providing fair, constructive, and ethical evaluations of submitted manuscripts.

Role of the Reviewer

Reviewers are expected to critically assess manuscripts and provide objective, scholarly feedback that assists editors in making informed editorial decisions and helps authors improve the quality of their work.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers should not share, discuss, or use the content of the manuscript for personal or professional purposes without explicit permission from the editor.

Objectivity and Fairness

Reviews should be conducted objectively and without personal bias. Criticisms should be expressed clearly and supported by academic reasoning. Reviewers must avoid personal comments and ensure respectful language.

Conflict of Interest

Reviewers should declare any potential conflict of interest that may affect their impartiality, including personal, professional, or institutional relationships with the author(s). In such cases, reviewers are expected to decline the review request.

Timeliness

Reviewers are requested to complete their reviews within the stipulated timeframe. If a reviewer is unable to meet the deadline, they should inform the editorial team promptly.

Key Review Criteria

  • Relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s scope
  • Originality and contribution to the field
  • Clarity of research objectives or arguments
  • Appropriateness of methodology or conceptual framework
  • Quality of analysis, interpretation, and discussion
  • Adequacy and relevance of references
  • Language quality and overall presentation

Ethical Considerations

Reviewers should alert the editor to any suspected ethical issues, including plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, or inappropriate research practices. Such concerns should be reported confidentially.

Reviewer Recommendations

Reviewers are requested to provide clear recommendations such as: accept, accept with minor revisions, revise and resubmit, or reject. Recommendations should be supported by detailed and constructive comments.

By agreeing to review for NADT Journals, reviewers contribute significantly to the advancement of ethical, high-quality scholarly publishing.
